They time your calls. Rarely do I get more than 10min. Even when I block my number they know it's me calling bc I still get ten min but when I call fr a diff number I get 20 or 30 min. They type up notes on everything you say (you can hear it in the background). Calls are recorded and are not confidential. One time many yrs back I was suicidal and they called police and even though my number was blocked they knew everything I said and took me in. Most ppl on this line cannot speak English fluently and have accents so deep I want to puke. I only call here bc it's like a old car, it's better to have a beater car that is garbage and gets you around then no car - that's how I feel about distress centre Calgary.
